LUCY WATERHOUSE
DIRECTOR OF THEATRE AND MOVEMENT
THE ENTRANCE
by Gerald Durrell, adapted for the stage by Dugald Bruce Lockhart
Riverside Studios | June 2026
Directed by Lucy Waterhouse for Drama Studio London Graduation Season
A new commission from Drama Studio London, The Entrance is a psychological gothic play following an antiquarian bookseller in a story of creatures in the mirrors, the occult and gothic horror.
At its heart is a tension between an insistence on evidence and logic, pitted against Peter's subjective experience of something monstrous — Durrell's haunted house becoming a trial of perception itself: whose account of reality do we trust, and on what grounds?
